A Claim to Fame from Inside Wilson Power Solutions
Amidst the ‘nine to five’ routine, it’s easy to become absorbed by work-related issues, conversations and topical agendas. However, it’s often refreshing to take a step back and engage in something something truly interesting and inspiring, once in a while.
By working in close proximity with our staff, and taking the time to make conversation, we learn all about their hidden skill and talents. Take Purchasing Stores Manager, Paul Ewart’s story, for example.
Paul began his working life as an Apprentice Coach Builder, constructing everything from ice cream vans to horseboxes. Such passion for construction and restoration has lead to Paul tinkering with many projects, over the years.
Unsurprisingly, the stand out memory for Paul was the 12 seater Charabanc build. Using a T Ford chassis from 1924, imported all the way from France, Paul and his old Foreman, (now godfather to his daughter Sophie), spent a few years constructing the Ash timber frame, before its completion in November 1983.
From here, the vehicle was delivered to its owner in West Yorkshire before being loaned out to TV, making its big screen debut in ‘A woman of Substance’, in 1984.
Great work, Paul!
