Project Title: Pelamis Wave Energy Converter 

Equipment: 1250 KVA Midel filled generation transformers  

Location: UK

PDT were asked by Ocean Power Delivery to design & build a generating transformer for their proto type Pelamis wave energy convertor.

The transformer was specially designed to operate in the harsh world of the offshore wind Industry.

For enviromental reasons Midel fluid was choosen as the cooling meduim as apposed to mineral oil.

Successful field trials have been on going in the Orkneys for over 18 months & there has been considerable interest from other Countries sush as Spain, Germany, Portugal & Denmark.
