Richard Wilson (Dencol) Ltd
Responsible power engineering
RWD is a leading supplier of re-engineered distribution transformers
and switchgear, returning used equipment to its original performance
standard, and as a result often providing greater benefits than
investment in new equipment.
It is our firm belief that
re-engineered equipment can be better than new. Backed by our
industry-leading performance guarantees, this is made possible thanks to
a sensitive environmental policy, speedy integration and the
comparatively low cost of renewal.
We also operate a
comprehensive hire fleet of electrical equipment available from
short-term fortnightly lease to months or even multiple years.
Generations of engineering excellence
RWD was established in 1947 by entrepreneur Richard Wilson. During the early years the business dealt mainly in the provision of flame-proof equipment, pumps and motors. Twenty years later in 1967, Richard’s two sons, Dennis and Colin joined the company and by 1974 the business was incorporated and became known as RWD – Richard Wilson (Dencol) Limited.
In 1990 another family member, Simon Wilson, joined the business and the company diversified further by starting to manufacture new distribution transformers. Just three year’s later RWD’s battery charger division was created. By the end of the 90s, Colin Wilson’s daughter, Erika, had become yet another third generation family member to join the business
Today the company has grown into the UK's leading supplier of re-engineered distribution transformers and switchgear.
